MEJI: (Michigan Elder Justice Initiative):
The project focuses primarily on issues affecting the most vulnerable older adults including long term care; guardianship; public benefits; and elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. It also works closely with disability advocates to address issues of shared concern.

Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman:
Under the MEJI, the Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman program works directly with residents in need of assistance, and engages in systemic advocacy to promote the rights and dignity of LTC consumers. Contact toll free: 1-866-485-9393.

Crime Victims Legal Assistance Project – Elder Justice (CVLAP-EJ):  
Under a grant from the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), MEJI helps support and works closely with a new program to provide free civil legal assistance to victims of elder abuse. For more information, contact Supervising Attorney Emily Miller at 734-998-6100 x 622.

LARA: (Michigan Licensing And Regulatory Affairs): LARA is the State of Michigan agency which oversees the Homes for the Aged and Nursing Homes. If there is a problem where the facility is in violation, these are the people you report them to.
